PRODUCT NAME Anti – Methoxy Mycolic Acid Antibody

BACKGROUND INFOMATION Tuberculosis (TB) is a major cause of mortality and morbidity due to infectious disease.  Mycolic acid, which has been found in patient sputum samples and comprises a large portion of the mycobacterial cell wall, is an ideal target. Mab-based detection assays could have a profound effect on diagnosis of TB. This antibody may be used for detection of mycolic acid in different species of bacteria strains in TB.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION This antibody is suitable for TB studies as it is specific for mycolic acid in bacteria.

FORMAT 100µg of lyophilized, purified antibody. Reconstitute to 100µl of distilled H2O for 1µg/µl. It contains no additives.

HOST Human

CLONALITY Monoclonal

ISOTYPE IgG1

REACTIVITY/ SPECIFICITY This antibody is specific and was able to detect 4.5 ng of total mycolic acid or methoxy mycolic acid by ELISA.

APPLICATIONS ELISA

RECOMMENDED STARTING DILUTIONS ELISA: 1:1000. Optimal dilution has to be determined by the user.

STORAGE Lyophilized antibody can be kept at 4°C for up to 3 months and should be kept at -20°C for long-term storage. To avoid freeze-thaw cycles, reconstituted antibody should be aliquoted before freezing for short-term storage (-20°C) or for long-term storage (-80°C). For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

STABILITY Minimum 1 year from reception date.
